There are five types of hides that drop in Velious, Arctic Wyvern, Black Panther,
Cobalt Drake, Haze Panther and Tigeraptor. Each of these recipes trivial above

EQ Tailoring Guide-5.0 Velious Tailoring

With the Velious Expansion, new recipes became available for tailoring that not
only allowed Tailors a variety of different avenues to raise their skill beyond the
158 mark, it also created some very nice armor for all classes. Unfortunately, all
the armor combinations were trivial above 250. This meant these recipes were
extremely hard to create.
Certain Velious zones also became heavily camped for the drops they offered.

EQ Tailoring Guide-5.1 Furs Recipes

There are four types of furs that drop in Velious, Holgresh, Othmirs, Velium
Hounds and Mastodons. Three of them create only a cap, cloak and moccasins,
while the Mastodon’s fur creates a cloak which is a recent quest item introduced
into the game. The created armor can be worn by any race and any class. Each
recipes trivials higher than 250 and can only be combined in the special Coldain
Tanners Kit (purchased in Thurgadin). These four recipes also sh

Reinforced Armor
Trivial 108

Reinforced Armor is created in such a way that allows the larger sized classes to
wear armor made from Cat Pelts. This allows the Tailor to use Cat or Bear Pelts
in these combines for the larger characters. Each recipe requires one to four
Steel Bonings, the appropriate pattern and a High Quality Bear, Cat or Wolf
Pelt/Skin. The names seem to be fairly straight-forward and once again all
recipes are

Studded Armor
Trivial 56
Studded Leather Armor recipes can be confusing as they do not follow
completely the normal rules of Class Sizes. The Small and Large Studded Armor
still fits only the small and large races like Gnomes/Halflings and Troll/Ogres,
however the medium sized recipes seem to be available to all sizes. Each
recipe requires one to five studs, the appropriate pattern and a Medium Quality
Bear, Cat or Wolf Skin/Pe

Quality Explained
As the Tailor’s skill increases so will the need to find better quality materials to
use. Ratty old ruined pelts are great when the adventurer is young, but as she
matures and starts fighting more difficult MoBs, she will need better quality armor
to survive. As stated above, there are three main types of basic leather armor:
Patchwork/Tattered, Studded and Reinforced. The quality of these pelts, hides
and skins correspond with

Trivials 26 – 108
The basic Leather Armor portion of this guide incorporates several different types
of recipes that cater to those classes who cannot wear silk armor. These
recipes include Patchwork/Tattered, Studded and Reinforced Armors. Unlike
the Silk Armors which require varying amounts of Spider or Shade Silks, these
recipes require pelts, skins and hides. The more complex recipes will require
Studs or Steel Boning which are cr
